The reason for the decline in Iran's liquid fuel consumption is the significant increase in the country's gas delivery to power plants.
Iran increased supplying natural gas to power plants by 13 billion cubic meters (bcm) during last 11 months. It's expected that the diesel and fuel oil consumption in power sector would decrease from 27 billion liters in last your to 18.5 billion liters in current fiscal year, according to the Deputy Oil Minister for Planning and Supervision On Hydrocarbon Resources Mansour Moezzemi.
Iran also stopped gas-oil import, but still imports about 4.5 million liters of gasoline per day.
Decreasing fuel oil consumption also opened more room for fuel exports. According to the official statistics, Iran's petroleum exports and bunkering increased significantly during the current year.
