Iran 's gas condensate exports increased to 7.75 million tons during the last four months, indicating a 2.3-time increase compared to the same period last year. Iran 's fiscal year starts on March 20. Iran 's Custom Administration released its monthly report on Aug. 13, saying the country's total gas condensate export value during last four months was $5.18 billion, 1.7 times more than the same period last year. It is not clear why Iran 's gas condensate export experienced a 127 percent increase in volume, but has only a 72.3 percent increase in value, while there have not been any significant fluctuations in oil prices since last year. There may be little ones in Iran, the "Russian plane" doesn't evoke the crash and death in their minds. Based on the Civil Aviation Organization (CAO) of Iran, some 71 passenger planes have crashed in the country since 1979, leading to 1817 deaths, a half of them were killed as a result of Russian aircraft accidents. Today, on August 10, an Antonov model aircraft crashed in Tehran, leaving 48 dead. The Ukrainian Antonov aircraft is assembled in Iran, called IrAn-140 under the license issued by Iran Aircraft Manufacturing Industrial Company (HESA). This aircraft is designed by the Ukrainian Antonov ASTC bureau as the successor for the Soviet An-24. The CAO statistics does not include crashes of jet fighters and deaths of non-passengers. Also, it does not include the death of 17 persons as a result of an Antonov crash in Kerman in November 1993. Iran says it has stopped importing gas oil in the current year. Mohsen Mazloum Farsibaf, director for planning affairs of the oil ministry, told SHANA News Agency on July 22 that the country has not imported any gas oil since the beginning of the current Iranian fiscal year (which started on March 21). He said that the oil ministry is trying to boost gas supply instead of liquid fuel to the power plants, so the country has stopped importing gas oil. A year after ex-President Mohammad Khatami took the office in 1997 Iran not only became self-sufficient in producing gas oil but also started to export the surplus amount. The situation remained the same during his eight years in office. But once Mahmoud Ahmadinejad became Iran's president, the country once again started to import gas oil. The International Energy Agency's monthly reports indicates that Iran's crude oil and gas condensate exports together were 1.11, 1.36 and 1.08 million barrels per day during April, May, and June respectively. Now, Iran's Custom Administration's monthly report covering a period from March 21 to June 22, says that Iran exported 5,784 tons or 522,425 barrels per day of gas condensate during the first quarter of Iran's fiscal year. The figure was about 217, 000 barrels per day during the same period last year. Alamdar Babayi, the director for major repairs at South Pars Gas Complex Company, announced on July 6 that the fifth refinery of South Pars gas field, with capacity to produce 57 million cubic meters of gas per day, is under repair. With five refineries, Iran produces 240 million cubic meters of per day from the South Pars gas field. It is while the oil ministry's latest report suggests that in the past two weeks the liquid fuel consumption of the country's power plants has been doubled. Iran , with 62.22 GW actual capacity faced temporary power outages in several provinces in recent days. The peak demand of power in Iran has risen by 10 percent to 46.9 GW since the beginning of summer.  Power consumption in Iran , in contrast with gas usage, soars in summer, but the recent increase level is so much more than what Iran 's Energy Ministry expected. Iran's car exports dropped by over 800 percent in 2013 compared to the year before. However, after an easing of sanctions in the wake of the six-month interim deal with the world powers in Geneva, Iran's car exports increased significantly. On the other hand, after a 5-year hiatus, Russia received its first batch of Iranian made cars on June 28. According to the monthly reports of the Iranian Customs Administration, Iran exported around $42 million worth of cars between December 22, 2012-December 22, 2013 (Iran's fiscal year), while the value of exports was $338 million in the previous fiscal year.
